INTRODUCTION:

ASPENSI (Association of Indonesian Scholars of History Education) in Bandung, incollaboration with BRIMAN (Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia Academic Network) Institute in Bandar Seri Begawan,have aim to identify the critical issues related to educational matters. It brings together the various partners involved in Indonesia and Southeast Asian countries: lecturers and teachers, policy makers and government agencies, and other learners themselves. How the history, concepts, principles, implementations, problems and solutions, and prospects on Politics of Education in Southeast Asian Countries, should constitute a wealth of learnable knowledge for all to discuss and share.

“Politics of Education and its Implications toward Social, Cultural, and Human Resources Development in Southeast Asian Countries” is the main theme of an International Conference. In this framework, the conference will be aimed at identifying and constructing the various aspects of Educational Politics, such as its genesis, development, prospect, problem and solution, and sharing the experiences and possible alternatives of gaining and enhancing the quality of prosperity, progress and democracy in Southeast Asian countries. So what important here is also to build silaturahim (networking) among the scholars, lecturers, teachers, and practitioners in Southeast Asian countries.

OBJECTIVES:

The general objective of International Conference is to reconstruct the genesis, principles, and practices on “Politics of Education and its Implications toward Social, Cultural, and Human Resources Development in Southeast Asian Countries”.

Specifically, the objectives of this conference are: (1) to provide a forum for sharing and caring the latest ideas, developments, and research findings on Politics of Education in Southeast Asian Countries; (2) to identify issues that can increase interests, achievements and involvements in Politics of Education in Southeast Asian Countries from diverse socio-cultural and geopolitical backgrounds; (3) to compare and contrast the practices on Politics of Education in Southeast Asian Countries from diverse socio-cultural and geopolitical backgrounds; and (4) to strengthen linkages and encourage networking amongst Southeast Asians’ historians, history educators, administrators and leaders in Politics of Education and its Implications toward Social, Cultural, and Human Resources Development in Southeast Asian Countries.

SUB THEMES:

The sub-themes of the conference are: (1) Case studies for Politics of Education and its Implications toward Social, Cultural, and Human Resources Development in Southeast Asian Countries; (2) History of educational institutions, including theory, methodology, curriculum and assessment in Politics of Education in Southeast Asian Countries’ contexts; (3) ICT or Information and Communication Technology’s literacy: challenges and responses in Politics of Education and its Implications in Southeast Asian Countries; (4) the Great Malay cultures and education legacies in facing the mainstream of globalization; and (5) Education as power for enhancing social prosperity and political democracy in Southeast Asian Nations.

LANGUAGE:

This International Conference will use Indonesia, Malay, and English languages.

OPENING CEREMONY:

The conference will be opened officially by Drs. Haji Djoko Adi Walujo, S.T.,M.M.,D.B.A., as Rector of UNIPA, University of PGRI Adibuana, in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

Invited keynote speakers are representative from Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, and Thailand. They are: (1) Prof. Dr. M. Dien Madjid of UIN, State Islamic University, Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta; (2) Prof. Dr. Ismail Ali of UMS, Malaysia University of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia; (3) Prof. Dr. Haji Awang Asbol bin Haji Mail of UBD, University of Brunei Darussalam, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam; (4) Prof. Dr. Jose Ocampo, Jr. of PNU, Philippine Normal University, Manila, the Philippines; and (5) Prof. Dr. Suwapatchara Changpinit of RU, Rajabhat University, Phitsanulok, Thailand.

CALL FOR PRESENTER AND PARTICIPANT:

The Committee will invite experts, lecturers, teachers and others to submit their full papers in the conference. The deadline for abstracts and full papers is 30 April 2018. The abstract and full paper must not exceed between 10-20 pages (single spaced) and sent to the Secretariat of Committee via e-mail at: suciandi@upi.edu or atriwusidna@gmail.com

The deadline for participants’ registration and paying the DP (Down Payment) of Conferenre Fee is 28 February 2018. The number of participants will be limited, so that early registration is strongly encouraged.

The papers will be selected and reviewed for publication in Minda Masagi journals nationally as well as internationally, such as: (1) SOSIOHUMANIKA: Jurnal Pendidikan Sains Sosial dan Kemanusiaan, published every May and November; (2) EDUCARE: International Journal for Educational Studies, published every February and August; (3) TAWARIKH: International Journal for Historical Studies, published every April and October; (4) ATIKAN: Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan, published every June and December; (5) SUSURGALUR: Jurnal Kajian Sejarah & Pendidikan Sejarah, published every March and September; (6) SIPATAHOENAN: South-East Asian Journal for Youth, Sports & Health Education, published every April and October; (7) INSANCITA: Journal of Islamic Studies in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, published every February and August; (8) MIMBAR PENDIDIKAN: Jurnal Indonesia untuk Kajian Pendidikan, published every March and September; and (9) HONAI: International Journal for Educational, Social, Political & Cultural Studies, published every May and November, that will be launched also in Opening Ceremony of Edu-Tourism with an International Conference in Bandung, on August 1-5, 2018.

CONFERENCE FEE AND FACILITIES:

The participants have to pay the Edu-Tourism with an International Conference’s fee as amount as IDR 4,500,000 (USD 347) per one person.

By paying the fee, the participants will get fasilities freely: (1) Stay at the star hotel in Bandung for 5D4N or 5 Days and 4 Nights; (2) Air-conditioned and comfortable Tourist Bus, available free ticket of train from Jakarta to Bandung, the participants will be picked up by Committee at Bandung train station, and the participants come from abroad will be picked up by Committee at Husein Sastranegara airport in Bandung; (3) Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner with Sundanese taste; (4) Free tickets for entering to Edu-Tourism destinations in Bandung; (5) Accepted papers will be publihed in journals nationally and internationally owned by Minda Masagi Press in Bandung; (6) get a branded T-Shirt; (7) get a nice handbag of HAWWA Tours & Travels; and (8) get the conferenre kits, journal prints, and certificate of partcipant.

FURTHER INFORMATION:

The registration will be closed on 28 February 2018. The DP (Down Payment) as amount as IDR 1,000,000 (USD 77) should be paid on February 28, 2018. On last June 2018, all fee of Edu-Tourism with an International Conference, i.e. DP IDR 1,000,000 (USD 77) and IDR 3,500,000 (USD 270) = IDR 4,500,000 (USD 347) has to be paid.
